Ethernet Connectivity
High band capacity and high reliability services over fibre and Ethernet technology connections. GEA (Geographical Ethernet Access) is a level 2 connectivity service, using Ethernet VLAN-based technology, which allows Operators to connect their POPs (which may be co-located in TIM exchanges) to their customers' premises and, more rarely, to implement direct connections between the Operator's customers' premises.
TIM Wholesale is the first operator in Europe to have obtained MEF CE 2.0 EAS certification for its GEA Service. Following this recognition we have launched the corresponding Service Profiles on the market in response to the market demand for greater performances and quality of the Ethernet connectivity services
The Fixed BH service includes, in a single solution, guaranteed bandwidth capacity (C.I.R.: Committed Information Rate) and a wide range of speeds and service profiles commensurate to the throughput required by the Ethernet application of the Operato
The service allows the Operator to transport voice/data traffic from its radio antennae to its network PoPs. It is comprised of connections with fibre optic access and transport over the packet network of TIM (OPM network).
