Backhaul Optical Fiber
Description of the service
TIM’s Backhaul Optical Fiber access service consists of the transfer, with IRU (Indefeasible Right of Use), of an Optical Fiber pair between the Co-located Operator's boundary FTF in a local exchange owned by TIM and the boundary FTF of the same Co-located Operator in an exchange at a hierarchical level above TIM.
Specifically, the offer includes:
TIM provides the Optical Fiber access service on its Backhaul Network (excluding optical fiber rented with IRU by third parties) irrespective of the use for which it is requested and the possible provision of access to the Installation Infrastructure.
Operators who sign up for the Backhaul Optical Fiber offer must be co-located or have requested the co-location service at the exchanges affected by the Backhaul Optical Fiber pair, according to the technical and financial conditions described in the “Co-location Services” Reference Offer.
Moreover, the Operator must have an optical fiber connection between the FTF of the exchanges affected by the Backhaul connection and its co-location spaces.
If the Operator intends to acquire a Backhaul Optical Fiber pair through one of its wells in the vicinity of TIM’s “Well One”; the latter shall permit this mode of access, where technically feasible, according to the provisions of the “Backhaul Installation Infrastructure and Backhaul Optical Fiber” Reference Offer.
TIM provides Operators who sign up to this service with the Cartographic Application “GIOIA” at no additional cost, signing a specific Contract that governs and regulates its use.
The price of TIM’s Backhaul Optical Fiber access service is made up of various components, which compensate the individual activities and services.
