Termination on the TIM mobile network
Who can use the service?
The service is intended for Operators who wish to terminate traffic directed towards TIM mobile customers delivering it directly to the TIM mobile network and, therefore, without making use of the transit services offered by third party networks.
Description of the service
The traffic to be forwarded to the TIM mobile network is carried on a special interconnection structure to be prepared between the Operator's switching centre and those of the TIM mobile network. This interconnection is created by transmission connections that the Operator can lay at their own expense or, where appropriate, rent from TIM.
When voice calls from the Operator's network are routed without the Routing Number provided for in the “Direct routing” technical solution, they cannot be terminated unless a special query (known as “Triggering”) is sent to the ported mobile and personal numbers. In this case, Telecom Italia carries out the Triggering on behalf of the Operator, charging the appropriate price on the price list.
Provision of spaces at the facilities of one or more TIM mobile network exchange facilities chosen for interconnection for the purpose of terminating voice calls on that network.
The full service offered by Wholesale TIM is described in two different documents:
Operators intending to rent interconnection circuits from WholesaleTIM must first sign a specific contract for the “Interconnect Flow” service.
