Who can use the service
Wholesale TIM's “Fixed Backhauling” or "Fixed BH" wholesale service, represents the effective and high quality response to the growing demand for Ethernet end-to-end connections between the geographical locations of the Operators.
The service includes, in a single solution, guaranteed bandwidth capacity (C.I.R.: Committed Information Rate) and a wide range of speeds and service profiles commensurate to the throughput required by the Ethernet application of the Operator.
Description of the service
The “Fixed BH” service provides Ethernet transport in a POP OLO - POP OLO context.
The service is exclusively aimed at cases where the POP OLO covered by the Backhauling is co-located in TIM's main telephone exchange. It is aimed at Operators in Regulated Co-location (both Physical and Virtual) or in Commercial Housing. The Commercial Housing must be suited to housing active network devices.
The Ethernet transport model is based on S-VLAN compliant with the Standard IEEE802.1ad. Therefore according to this mode, which is the Standard, the S-VLANs are delivered to the Operator on the delivery KIT.
The possibility of implementing, on request, the delivery in QinQ mode, if required by the Operator, is not excluded.
The Offer includes the following profiles:
Data Fixed BH: with CoS 2;
Premium Fixed BH: for video applications with CoS 3;
Strict Priority BH: for voice applications with CoS 5;
Multi-CoS: the following profiles are provided:
Profile A: 70% CoS 2, 20% CoS 3, 10% CoS 5
Profile B: 90% CoS 2 and 10% CoS 5
Profile C: 80% CoS 2 and 20% CoS 3.
Below is a summary table showing the speeds available for each profile:
Legend: x = Profile available
o = Only on the Project Basis and subject to a Feasibility Study
- = Profile unavailable
The profiles indicated above will be available in the Basic and Plus modes (Plus includes a connection based on double pairs of Optic Fibre to the OPM Feeder of TIM).
The Fixed BH Service has a highly reliable connection and excellent Assurance SLAs.
Annual Availability of the Connection
In the event of Disservice:
Basic Profile: 8 hours
Plus Profile: 5 hours
KIT: 5 hours
In the event of performance deterioration:
3 days for all types of connection
For On-Net Exchanges connections can also be ordered directly from the Operator. For all the other cases the sale of connections must be preceded by a feasibility study.
Should the Operator wish for a connection to be delivered on its PoP at a TIM exchange, the Operator must have signed a Co-location agreement. No other preparatory services are necessary.
